Progress Made
In 2016, Whole Forest raised investment funds to build a new hardwood facility. We spent the majority of 2017 constructing a new factory in Cristóbal Colón. Working with our strategic partner, Cider Press Woodworks, we purchased a full line of production machinery to be able to make high-quality architectural surfaces. The long-awaited machinery was delivered to the shop in early November, and it’s estimated that the facility will be set up and running by mid-December.
Although Whole Forest is starting a new production line, our staff has already gained the critical skills to manage the new line through eight years of making balsa laminates. We are hiring a skilled hardwood production manager to lead the new hardwood line. We can begin manufacturing products in early 2018 with the 75,000 board feet of lumber currently in inventory.
